Kāpiti Computer & Laptop Wireless Repairs

Faulty Wi-Fi cards, "limited or no connectivity", firewall, DNS and IPv4/IPv6 problems — when the issue is your laptop or PC rather than your router, we fix it. We diagnose and repair device-side wireless faults for homes and businesses right across the Kāpiti Coast.

We're fully mobile with no shopfront — we come to you, which keeps our prices low. These repairs are hands-on, so they're charged at our hourly rate plus any parts, which we may need to order in.

Laptop & PC wireless repairs

When it's the computer, not the Wi-Fi

Not every wireless problem is the router. Often it's the device itself — a failing Wi-Fi card, corrupt drivers, a firewall blocking traffic, a DNS problem, or an IPv4/IPv6 addressing conflict stopping your laptop or PC getting online. These are hands-on repairs that need a technician at the keyboard, not a new access point.

We diagnose the fault properly, fix what can be fixed on the spot, and replace or upgrade wireless hardware where needed. Because we're fully mobile and have no shop to pay for, we come to you and keep prices low.

We repair computer wireless issues everywhere from Paekākāriki and Paraparaumu to Raumati, Waikanae, Te Horo and Ōtaki, and across the wider Kāpiti Coast.

Diagnosis first

Is it your computer's Wi-Fi, or your network?

?

If one laptop or PC struggles while everything else in the house is fine, the problem is usually the device — not the network. We start by working out exactly where the fault sits, so you're not paying to replace gear that was never the issue.

From there we fix it at the source: replacing a dead wireless card, reinstalling drivers, correcting firewall rules, sorting DNS, or clearing an IPv4/IPv6 conflict. If a part is needed we'll fit one from the van where we can, or order the right card or adapter in for you.

Because we diagnose before we replace anything, you only pay for the fix your device actually needs — no guesswork, and no expensive parts you didn't have to buy.

How we help

We come to you — no shop, lower prices

Hands-On, At Your Place

No dropping your computer at a shop and waiting days. We come to your home or business, diagnose and fix on site, and only charge for the time on the job — no shopfront overheads pushing the price up.

Parts Supplied or Ordered In

We carry common wireless cards, adapters and cables in the van. If your device needs a specific part, we'll order the right one in and confirm the cost before we do — so there are no surprises.

How it works

How a callout works

We come to you, diagnose the wireless fault on your laptop or PC, and fix what we can on the spot. If a replacement card, adapter or part is needed, we'll fit one from the van where possible, or order the right part in and confirm the cost first.

Work is charged at our standard hourly rate — a minimum of one hour, then in 15-minute increments — plus any parts. Being mobile with no shop keeps those rates low.

A typical callout

  • Diagnose the wireless fault
  • Confirm it's the device, not the network
  • Fix drivers, firewall, DNS or IP settings
  • Replace the Wi-Fi card if needed
  • Parts fitted or ordered in
  • Tested and working before we leave

Real connectivity fixes for Kāpiti Coast homes and businesses.

★★★★★
Got a new router and my ISP said it was plug and play, yeah right! Took us hours and finally gave up so call these guys. Same day service and I needed a VLAN tag, along with a different cable from the router to the Chorus box to get faster speeds. Lesson learnt, should have called right away.

Computer Wireless Repair FAQs

Can you replace a faulty laptop wireless card in Paraparaumu or Waikanae?
Yes. We diagnose and replace failed laptop and PC Wi-Fi cards on site across the Kāpiti Coast, including Paraparaumu, Waikanae and Ōtaki. Depending on your device we'll fit a replacement M.2 or PCIe card, or a quality USB adapter where that's the better option — carried from the van or ordered in.
My laptop says "limited or no connectivity" — can you fix it?
Yes, that's one of the most common jobs we're called out for. "Limited or no connectivity" and "no internet, secured" usually come down to drivers, IP configuration, DNS or a firewall setting on the device — all things we diagnose and fix hands-on.
Do you fix firewall, DNS and IPv4/IPv6 issues?
Yes. We sort firewalls blocking your connection or network drives, DNS problems that stop pages loading, and IPv4/IPv6 conflicts, bad DHCP leases and addressing issues that keep a device offline.
What laptop and PC brands do you work on?
A wide range — Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Acer, Apple/Mac, Microsoft Surface, MSI, Samsung, Toshiba, LG, Razer, Gigabyte and Chromebooks, across Windows laptops, MacBooks, desktop PCs, gaming rigs and all-in-ones.
Do I need to take my computer to a shop?
No — we don't have a shop, and that's a good thing for you. We come to your home or business and fix the problem on site, which means no dropping it off, no waiting days, and lower prices because we're not paying for a shopfront.
How much do computer wireless repairs cost?
These repairs are hands-on, so they're charged at our standard hourly rate — $125 including GST for residential or $145+GST for business (minimum one hour, then every 15 minutes) — plus a $25 local travel fee and any parts. We always confirm parts costs before ordering.
Can you fix a desktop PC that won't connect to Wi-Fi?
Yes. Whether it's a driver or configuration issue, a dead onboard adapter or a desktop with no Wi-Fi at all, we can repair it or fit a reliable PCIe or USB wireless adapter and get it connected.
Do you cover the whole Kāpiti Coast?
Yes — from Paekākāriki and Pukerua Bay through Paraparaumu, Raumati and Waikanae to Te Horo, Ōtaki and Levin, plus the rural blocks in between. Travel fees apply outside the local Paekākāriki to Te Horo area.
