Mesh won't reliably reach a separate building, but a proper point to point wireless bridge will. We do it right from the start — the correct hardware, a clean install and a link that simply works — so you're not paying twice to patch up a mesh setup that was never built for the job.
What is a point to point bridge?
A point to point bridge (also called a wireless bridge or point to point link) beams a network connection through the air between two locations. It lets you extend your internet, network or security cameras from one building to another without digging a trench or paying for a second line. With clear line of sight, a well-aligned bridge carries fast, reliable speeds across your driveway, paddock or right down a rural block.
There's no job too short or too long. We install point to point wireless bridges over anything from 50 to 250 metres, right up to 5 or even 10 kilometres, depending on your line of sight and what you need to run. At the other end of the scale we regularly link buildings just a few metres apart — two steel sheds barely 5 metres apart with no cabling between them, for example. Because steel blocks Wi-Fi and running overhead cabling between them is a safety risk, a wireless bridge is often the only safe, practical solution.

Why not just use mesh?
Mesh Wi-Fi is a brilliant way to blanket the inside of a home with signal — but it's designed for internal use only. It was never built to jump across a yard or into a separate building, and that's where a lot of setups fall over.
A metal shed is the classic example. With the roller door open, a mesh node outside might just reach inside, so it looks like it works. Shut that door and the signal dies — Wi-Fi can't penetrate steel from the outside. You're left with a connection that drops out every time the door closes.
Distance, walls, trees and steel all block Wi-Fi, and adding more mesh nodes won't fix it. Plenty of other IT companies will still sell and install mesh for these jobs without explaining that it's an indoor technology only.

Travel fee: A $25 travel fee applies for local callouts from Paekākāriki to Te Horo. Addresses in Hautere, Ōtaki, Manakau and Pukerua Bay are charged a $62.50 fee (30 minutes travel), and Kuku, Ohau, Levin, Waitārere or surrounding areas a $125 fee (60 minutes travel). This is in addition to the hourly rate.
Installation: Point to point hardware and installation are quoted separately after your consultation, based on the distance, line of sight and gear your property needs. You'll always get a fixed price before any work starts.
